Simple Steps to Improve Your Self-Esteem and Confidence

These days, people have seen their self-esteem disintegrate right before their eyes. Some have lost jobs and homes and are feeling pretty beaten up.

For example, a man mails over 300 resumes looking for work and finally lands an interview. One other person is on the company’s short list. The two resumes look quite similar, but one of the individuals has worked to build up his self-esteem and self-confidence over the last 12 months and the other has not. Who gets the job?

Self-esteem is the way you see yourself according to your worth and value. If you don’t have enough self-esteem and confidence in your abilities, you cannot be completley happy in life. Confidence is essential for healthy living.

Without strong self-esteem, you will feel depressed, unhappy, and insecure all the time. And you will disapprove of the things you do accomplish. You believe you can’t do anything right, which makes you stumble and fall in your every endeavor.

You can improve your self-esteem and confidence. Now. By following these simple steps.

  1. Face your fears. Don’t let them overpower you. Fears are not as bad as you think they are. You will definitely boost your confidence if you effectively face your fears and eventually conquer them. Fear is False Evidence Appearing Real.
  1. Learn from your mistakes. It’s okay to fail. Just make sure you learn lessons from those mistakes. Then you won’t make the same ones again. And learning from your mistakes will make you wiser and stronger when you face future challenges.
  1. Assert yourself. Know what you want and determine ways to get it. You can make your dreams come true. Do what it takes to reach your goals and realize your dreams.
  1. Reward yourself. You need to approve of yourself. If you don’t accept yourself, no one else will. Find ways to reward yourself when you achieve desired accomplishments.
  1. Ask and know. Do you feel uncomfortable about something? Ask yourself why. Then deal with it. Do what it takes to rid yourself of the discomfort you feel. Only then will your real confidence shine.
  1. Don’t permit yourself to fail. Failure happens when you let yourself be defeated. If you stay standing each time you are disappointed, you are not beaten yet. But when you stop fighting, you’ve lost. If you stop the fight and fail to prove to yourself you can do it, you won’t feel the confidence and the self-esteem you need.
  1. Get help. When nothing seems to go right, help is available. A lot of excellent materials and people can help you increase your confidence. You can even seek the help of a professional.

A great tool to help you and others improve self-worth is the Consulting Resource Group’s Self-Worth Inventory.

The Online Self-Worth Inventory (SWI) is a 16-page professionally developed, self-administered, and self-scored learning and communication tool. Responding to 40 questions, you establish your self-worth levels in 5 critical areas: Self, Family, Peers, Work, and Projected Self. You confirm your level of self-worth in each area to discover your levels of Self-Concept, Self-Esteem, and your Overall Self-Worth.

Research proves our self-worth levels highly influence our productivity, capacity to engage, our happiness, wellness and stress, our propensity for addictions, ability to embrace change, willingness to take personal responsibility for outcomes, and much more.

In Part 2 of the SWI assessment, you are provided with research on the impact of low and high self-worth, plus 12 specific strategies for increasing and developing the self-worth of yourself and others.

Our thoughts and feelings about ourselves radiate into everything we do. Follow the effective tips above and you will see how to boost your confidence to the maximum level possible.
